Inter Milan Reach Champions League Final After Derby Victory

Lautaro Martinez Goal Seals 1-0 Win Over AC Milan

Inter Advance 3-0 on Aggregate

MILAN, Italy - Inter Milan reached the Champions League final for the first time in 13 years after Lautaro Martinez's 73rd-minute goal secured a 1-0 victory over fierce rivals AC Milan at the San Siro on Wednesday.

The victory, coupled with a 2-0 first-leg win, means Inter advance to the final with a commanding 3-0 aggregate scoreline. They will face either Real Madrid or Manchester City in the final in Istanbul on June 10.

Martinez's goal came after a swift passing move involving Romelu Lukaku. The Argentine striker played a one-two with Lukaku inside the Milan penalty box before getting goalside of Fikayo Tomori and firing low past goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Inter had the better of the chances throughout the match and could have won by a more comfortable margin. Lukaku had a goal ruled out for offside in the first half, while Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan made a number of fine saves.

The victory continues Inter's impressive run of form in the Milan derby. They have now won five consecutive derbies for the first time in the fixture's history.

For Milan, the defeat brings an end to their Champions League campaign. They were unfortunate to lose the first leg 2-0 at home, but they never really threatened to turn the tie around in the second leg. They will now focus on finishing in the top four of Serie A and securing a place in next season's Champions League.
